To use StoryBox smoothly on the web and on mobile devices, your network administrators need to consider the following points. Please forward this list to your IT department to ensure StoryBox functions fully. If you have any further questions or if the IT department requires additional information for whitelisting, please contact your designated StoryBox contact or reach out to customer@storybox.cloud.

Recommended: Automatically Test Your Network

  1. Make sure you are connected to the company network. This applies to mobile phones, laptops, and desktop devices alike.
  2. Open https://admin.storybox.blog/network-test and wait until the test completes.
  3. Repeat the test for your use cases:
    - In the office
    - In the home office over a VPN connection
    - On a mobile phone

Instructions for Your IT Colleagues

1. Whitelist-Konfiguration für StoryBox

If your network specifically blocks unknown domains and URLs, please ensure the following domains are whitelisted for the internal network and for VPN users. In some cases, proxy exceptions may be required, depending on your network architecture.

The following domains must be accessible or added to your whitelist:

storybox.blog (incl. subdomains)

storybox.cloud (incl. subdomains)

And the following individual Subdomain:

firestore.googleapis.com

Instead of whitelisting the entire domain, you can also whitelist specific URLs. However, please note that URLs may expand due to new features or licensing changes, which may increase maintenance for your IT department. To avoid future adjustments, we recommend whitelisting the entire domain. These are the currently valid URLs:

https://admin.storybox.blog
https://realm.storybox.blog
https://api.storybox.blog
https://cdn.storybox.blog
https://cdn2.storybox.blog
https://storybox.cloud
https://share.storybox.cloud
https://firestore.googleapis.com

    2. Other important network settings

If your company uses a VPN (Virtual Private Network), MDM (Mobile Device Management) or other security software (Endpoint Security) on the computer or smartphone, please ensure that the domains mentioned are also released there.

    3. Network and Connection Speed

StoryBox is a video application that regularly processes large amounts of data (“heavy data”), especially with high-quality video recordings. Depending on video length and effects applied, files can be 1 GB or larger. Some networks utilize bandwidth restrictions that may slow down or prevent StoryBox operation. Therefore, we recommend a minimum speed of 100 Mbit/s for downloads and 50 Mbit/s for uploads for optimal use.

If your network imposes data limits, this could affect video synchronization and upload.

Tip: If an upload fails, enable the “Mobile Data” option in the app settings to check if the issue is network-related. Note that this will consume mobile data.
