Overlays for longer speaking scenes
You can add B-Rolls in StoryBox to make your videos even more professional and appealing.
What are B-rolls?
B-rolls are additional film material that you can use alongside your main shots. They help you to tell your stories more vividly, make them more varied and captivate your audience even more.
With B-Rolls you can:
- Visually support your main shots: Show relevant scenes while you continue narrating in your main scene (A-Roll) to better inform and entertain your audience.
- Add more dynamics and variety to your videos: Switch between different shots to avoid monotony and make your video more exciting.
- Enhance emotion and atmosphere: Use atmospheric B-roll footage to influence your audience's emotions and create a certain mood.
- Help to pack more information into even shorter videos.
In the WebStudio, you can subordinate a scene as a B-roll to a main scene by clicking on ‘Group Scene’ above the desired B-roll on the left-hand side of the storyboard. The main scene or A-roll must be above the B-rolls (you can also insert several B-rolls) and be longer than the total time of all B-rolls that are to run as overlays in this scene.
The same order applies on the mobile App (A-roll is above the B-rolls). To make a scene a B-roll, tap it and drag it to the right. It is then indented with a small arrow. You can move the B-roll by going to the main scene.
Tip: Finish editing your future B-roll (trimming, animation, virtual background, etc.) before you define it as B-roll.
